It regards the human being to be a rare psychological, physical and spiritual entity. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is guided by the principle that in order to prevent diseases the best approach would be health preservation. Also, it is vital for us to live better lifestyles and have good nutrition choices before the insurgence of a disease rather opting to get prescriptions after problems have arisen. Alternative medical systems are holistic in that they tie physical symptoms around various aspects of the human being inclusive of his or her social and natural environment. They are basically person-centered. There is increased awareness globally on the necessity to maintain a healthy lifestyle. People are turning to strategies of prevention of diseases. Alternative medical systems offers best practices to future patients who wish to lead healthy life styles and prevent illness.
